# Your profile and account

The Self-Service Portal is where you manage your own details and security settings, without going through IT.

## Viewing and updating your profile

Your profile shows the details SECUREpass holds about you. Some of them you can change yourself — a phone number, for example — and some are set by your organisation and shown read-only, because they come from the HR or directory system that owns them.

If something is wrong and you cannot edit it, that field is managed elsewhere. Ask your IT team rather than working around it.

## Changing your password

You can change your password at any time from the portal. The new one has to meet your organisation's password policy, which typically sets a minimum length and a mix of character types, and often stops you reusing a recent password.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Change it immediately if you think someone else knows it.
{% endhint %}

## Managing trusted devices

A trusted device is one you have told SECUREpass you use regularly. Depending on your organisation's settings, signing in from a trusted device may ask you for fewer checks than signing in from somewhere new.

The portal lists the devices you have trusted. You can give each one a name you will recognise, and remove any you no longer use.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Remove a device as soon as you stop using it — an old laptop or a phone you have replaced should not stay on the list.
{% endhint %}
