# Your applications

Your application portal is the single place to open everything you have access to.

## Opening an application

Select an application to open it. SECUREpass signs you in automatically, so you are not asked for another username and password.

{% hint style="info" %}
If an application asks you to sign in again, that usually means your SECUREpass session has expired rather than anything being wrong. Sign in to SECUREpass again and try once more.
{% endhint %}

## What you can see

Your portal shows only the applications you have access to. If a colleague has something you do not, it is because their access was granted and yours was not—the portal is a view of your own access, not a catalogue of everything the organisation runs.

## Understanding your access

Within each application, you hold a role, and that role decides what you can do once you are in. Being able to open an application does not mean you can do everything inside it.

If you can reach an application but cannot do something you need to, the answer is usually a role change rather than new access. Say that when you ask.

## Requesting an application you do not have

If you need something that is not in your portal, request it rather than asking for a shared login. See *Requesting access*.
